There will be some mouth-watering clashes this weekend in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
FA Cup holders Chelsea travel across London to play Brentford at Griffin Park. Premier League champions Manchester City travel to Stoke City in a repeat of the 2011 FA Cup final. And Manchester United host Fulham in the late afternoon kick-off.
The Spurs have only one defeat from 14 matches as they travel to Leeds United on Sunday. FC Liverpool travel to Oldham Athletic in a repeat of last year’s third-round tie.
Arsenal will travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Wigan Athletic travel to the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, Blue Square Premier side Macclesfield Town. Queens Park Rangers, who are unbeaten in five matches, play MK Dons. And Bolton Wanderers host Everton.
Man City winger James Milner believes that with the backing of the club’s fans, his side can make it to the last 16.
“It’s a pretty good draw for us, even though it’s not the easiest of places to go,” said Milner. “Our thinking is, if you want to win the FA Cup, you have to beat everyone anyway,” said Milner. “The fact that we’re taking more than 4,000 fans is really important because the Stoke fans make a lot of noise, but our supporters are brilliant and will give as good as they get when it comes to creating an atmosphere. “The Britannia Stadium is not the easiest of venues to go to but if we can quieten the home crowd early on then so much the better.”
Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov returns to Old Trafford for the first time since he transferred to London from Manchester United. Berbatov was at Man United for four years before signing for Fulham on transfer deadline day last August.
“I don’t want to put pressure on him,” said Fulham manager Martin Jol. “Of course if he was playing for Man United it would be a bit easier for him but he is not playing for them anymore, he plays for us.” “Hopefully he will do something nice, but for me it is important that he works for the team. We would love to go to the next round, even though we are playing against United.”
